The Children’s Guild Names Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow 2015 Sadie Award Recipient

Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow, president and CEO of Correct Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc. has been named The Children’s Guild’s 2015 Sadie Award Winner and will be honored at The Children’s Guild’s Cabaret for Kids to be held on Saturday evening February 28, 2015 at the France Merrick Performing Arts Center.

A national leader in the advancement of clinical pharmacy services, Dr. Yankellow is one of the leading women pharmacists in the country and an expert in institutional and geriatric pharmacy services. She founded Correct Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc. in 2003 and has grown the company to be one of the leading women owned businesses in the state of Maryland, serving more than 200,000 patients nationwide.

“Ellen’s strong commitment to delivering the highest quality services to her patients who reside in correctional and juvenile facilities, residential treatment programs and senior care facilities as well as the culture of caring that pervades every aspect of her business, combined with her passion for community service and philanthropy, made her the ideal choice as our 2015 Sadie Award Winner. Dr. Yankellow is on the boards of numerous organizations including serving as chair of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Board of Visitors. She is a board member of the Catholic Community Foundation and a member of Stevenson University’s President’s Advisory Council. She is also part of the United Way of Central Maryland’s Philanthropic Network. She also serves on the corporate boards of AAA Mid-Atlantic, AAA Maryland Regional and J.J. Haines & Company, Inc.

She has received numerous awards to include being inducted into the Maryland Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame, Associated Black Charities Community Impact Award and the Daily Record’s Most Influential Marylanders, Top 100 Women Circle of Excellence and the Most Admired CEO’s Award. She has also received the University of Maryland’s School of Pharmacy Honored Alumnus Award and the Key to Pharmacy Hall.

Most recently Dr. Yankellow established the Ellen H. Yankellow Post Graduate Fellowship Program in concert with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. This gift was the largest gift ever given by a female graduate and The Ellen H. Yankellow Grand Atrium was dedicated in October 2013 in recognition of her commitment to her profession and school.

Dr. Yankellow graduated from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1973 and received her Doctor of Pharmacy in 1996.
